Waterways:
Henry County is close proximity to the Mississippi River, with its 9-foot channel and 10-month navigation season.  The river has 50 barge terminals with 26 served by rail and interstate.  Recreational facilities are also availble.
Rock River-navigable for recreation and is the northwest boundary of Henry County.

The Quad City International Airport is within ten miles and offers sixty arrivals and departures per day with one-stop service to virtually anywhere in the world through the hubs of Atlanta, Chicago (Midway and O'Hare), Denver, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and St. Louis.

GEOGRAPHY

Henry County encompasses 823 square miles and is the 29th largest of the 102 counties in the State of Illinois.  The area is fairly flat with elevations ranging from less than 650 feet above sea level in the northwest to 850 in the southeast portions of the county.  Much of the land is used for agriculture with a total of 456,596 acres of farmland (86.7% of Henry County's land area).
